Oil Separator Cleaning Services

Blix Environmental Solutions provides vacuuming and oil separator cleaning services, ensuring that all hazardous environmental waste is disposed of legally.

About our Oil Separator Cleaning Services

Oil separators separate oil and water mixtures; if they are not cleaned and maintained regularly, the oil levels in the water released will rise and cause environmental damage. Blix Environmental Solutions oil separator cleaning service ensures that oil separators perform as expected without releasing hazardous waste into the environment.

The Benefits

An oil separator is a critical piece of equipment which ensures the safe disposal of oil waste.

R

By maintaining the cleanliness of oil separators, contamination of groundwater is prevented.

R

Regular cleaning of oil separators ensures that they do not discharge oil to the stormwater system or get blocked.

R

Municipalities require proof of legal disposal of hazardous waste and maintenance of oil separators.

Our Technologies

Blix’s proprietary super sucker vacuum technology ensures the smooth and efficient cleaning of oil separators.

A

Blix uses vacuum trucks or vacuum trailers to suction the oil and debris from the oil separator.

Applications for Oil Separator Cleaning

The term oil applies to mineral oil, vegetable oil, animal oils, and many different hydrocarbons. All oil which needs to be disposed of ethically should be put through an oil separator.

Z

Oil separator cleaning needs to be conducted for hydrocarbon was such as that found mechanical workshops.

Z

Places where vehicle washback occurs.

Z

All environments which potentially can discharge oil.

Z

Any hydrocarbon which may flow into the storm waste.

Z

Drainage systems or settings such as mechanical workshops, wash bays, and parking lots.

What is considered working in a confined space?
A confined space has limited or restricted means of entry or exit and is not a space that is designed for normal or continuous human occupancy. A confined space is not necessarily a small space if you consider the inclusion of silos, vats, tanks, water supply towers, etc. that fall under this definition.
What are some examples of working in confined spaces?
Working in tanks, vessels, silos, storage bins, hoppers, vaults, puts, manholes, tunnels, equipment housing, ducts, pipelines, sewers, access shafts, aircraft wings, boilers, pump stations, digesters, manure pits, compartments of ships, furnaces and storage bins, to name a few.
Why are confined spaces hazardous?
Working in confined spaces is hazardous because there is always a risk of inhalation of dangerous fumes, reduced oxygen levels or a risk that a fire may break out. Flooding and drowning is yet another risk, as well as the risk of asphyxiation from a source such as dust, grain or when working with any contaminant.
Do you require special clothing to work in a confined space?
Yes, specialised clothing is required for work in confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (such as respirators, gloves, hearing protection) is commonly used in confined spaces. However, wearing PPE may increase the heat experienced by the operator, and/or cause loss of mobility in certain situations. Those situations should be carefully evaluated on a case-by-case basis. PPE should always be used as part of a PPE program and all possible hazards and risks associated with PPE should be evaluated prior to project commencement.
How are potential hazards controlled when working in confined spaces?
The traditional hazard control methods found in regular worksites can also be used effectively when working in a confined space. However, due to the nature of working in confined spaces, and depending on the hazard, special precautions that are not normally required in a regular worksite should also be taken.
Examples of these could include:
  • Engineering controls: designed to remove the hazard – for example, mechanical ventilation
  • Administrative controls: designed to minimise contact with the hazard – for example, an entry permit system for workers
  • Personal protective equipment: designed to protect the user – for example, respirators, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
