High-Pressure Drain and Stormwater Pipe Cleaning

Blix Environmental Solutions offers high-pressure drain and stormwater pipe cleaning services to remove debris from stormwater and sewerage pipes using high-pressure water jetting.

About our High-Pressure Drain and Stormwater Pipe Cleaning

Blix Environmental Solutions uses high pressure pumps to clean and remove obstructions created by sand, fat, roots and other debris in sewerage and stormwater pipes. Continuous water blasts through a high-pressure hose push the obstruction further down the pipe and eventually out of the pipe. When blockages cannot be removed using conventional tools, high-pressure water jetting is the best solution.

The Benefits

High-pressure water jetting can be used to clear various blockages in an efficient, environmentally friendly, and economical way.

R

Clean or unblock stormwater drains to prevent flooding due to heavy rain.

R

Clean or unblock sewerage pipes to prevent overflow of raw sewerage from manholes.

R

Clean or unblock sewage pipes to prevent raw sewerage from being pushed back into drainage points inside homes and other facilities.

R

High-pressure drain cleaning is one of the most effective methods to clean out pipe build-up and blockages.

R

For slow-moving drains, high-pressure water jetting is a quick, cost-effective, and environmentally sound solution providing long-lasting results.

R

For domestic, industrial, and municipal drains and sewer lines.

Our Technologies

High-pressure water jetting uses technology that ensures the effective and fast removal of blockages in pipes.

A

Depending on the pump used, high-pressure water jetting technology uses a pump that delivers between 150 litres and 310 litres of water at between 160 bar and 220 bar

A

The jetting trucks are equipped with high pressure jetting pumps, a 10 000 litre water tank and 120m hydraulic wheels

A

270 Lpm to 300Lpm at 200Bar

A

120m Jetting hose, which can be extended to 240m

A

Hydraulic hose reel, which controls speeds for cleaning

A

Specialised nozzles for different applications

A

8000L to 10000L water storage capacity

Applications

Where there are pipes, there are bound to be blockages, which is why so many industries require high-pressure pipe cleaning services. Our high pressure drain cleaning equipment is perfect for cleaning out these tight spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have more questions about our High-Pressure Drain and Stormwater Pipe Cleaning? Here are some of our clients' most asked questions.
FAQS
Which areas in South Africa does Blix service?

Blix services all areas in South Africa.

Does Blix service the domestic market?

No, Blix is purely focused on the non-domestic/industrial industry

Does Blix offer an after hour service?

Blix does offer a 24 hours service when required and especially in case of emergencies

What is high pressure jetting used for?

High-pressure jetting, or HP jetting, makes use of high speed streams of high-pressure water to to clean an array of pipes.HP jetting is used to clear blockages in drain or storm water pipes, as well as to perform regular or routine preventative cleaning of drain or storm water pipes, as well as potable water pipes.

What is considered working in a confined space?
A confined space has limited or restricted means of entry or exit and is not a space that is designed for normal or continuous human occupancy. A confined space is not necessarily a small space if you consider the inclusion of silos, vats, tanks, water supply towers, etc. that fall under this definition.
What are some examples of working in confined spaces?
Working in tanks, vessels, silos, storage bins, hoppers, vaults, puts, manholes, tunnels, equipment housing, ducts, pipelines, sewers, access shafts, aircraft wings, boilers, pump stations, digesters, manure pits, compartments of ships, furnaces and storage bins, to name a few.
Why are confined spaces hazardous?
Working in confined spaces is hazardous because there is always a risk of inhalation of dangerous fumes, reduced oxygen levels or a risk that a fire may break out. Flooding and drowning is yet another risk, as well as the risk of asphyxiation from a source such as dust, grain or when working with any contaminant.
Do you require special clothing to work in a confined space?
Yes, specialised clothing is required for work in confined spaces. Personal protective equipment (such as respirators, gloves, hearing protection) is commonly used in confined spaces. However, wearing PPE may increase the heat experienced by the operator, and/or cause loss of mobility in certain situations. Those situations should be carefully evaluated on a case-by-case basis. PPE should always be used as part of a PPE program and all possible hazards and risks associated with PPE should be evaluated prior to project commencement.
How are potential hazards controlled when working in confined spaces?
The traditional hazard control methods found in regular worksites can also be used effectively when working in a confined space. However, due to the nature of working in confined spaces, and depending on the hazard, special precautions that are not normally required in a regular worksite should also be taken.
Examples of these could include:
  • Engineering controls: designed to remove the hazard – for example, mechanical ventilation
  • Administrative controls: designed to minimise contact with the hazard – for example, an entry permit system for workers
  • Personal protective equipment: designed to protect the user – for example, respirators, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
